Abstract

Low awareness regarding dental health maintenance will affect dental health conditions. Lack of knowledge of dental health maintenance in grade IV and V students of SDN Klakah 04 Lumajang is a problem in this study. This study aims to determine the knowledge of dental health maintenance in grade IV and V students of SDN Klakah 04 Lumajang after counseling using dental spinning wheel media. The design used is descriptive to describe the knowledge of dental health maintenance after counseling using dental spinning wheel media with 36 students as respondents. Data were obtained through a questionnaire after the test to evaluate understanding of the benefits of maintaining dental health, tooth brushing techniques, how often and when to brush teeth, and the types of food that impact dental health. Information analysis is carried out by processing the average answers from respondents, then converting them into percentages and displaying them in table format. The results of the study showed that the knowledge of fourth and fifth grade students at SDN Klakah 04 Lumajang about the benefits of maintaining dental health, tooth brushing techniques, how often and when to brush their teeth, and the types of food that affect dental health were categorized as “good” after they participated in the counseling with an average score of 80.6%
