Abstract

Elementary school student often face challenges in maintaining their dental and oral hygiene. The suboptimal dental and oral hygiene conditions among elementary school children are caused by their limited knowledge and skills in properly caring for their oral health. The focus of this study is the high OHI-S score among 3rd grade students at SDN Jajar Tunggal III Surabaya. This study aims to evaluate toothbrushing techniques among 3rd grade elementary school students through the use of video media. The approach used is descriptive. The target population of the study includes 3rd grade students at SDN Jajar Tunggal III Surabaya, involving 30 respondents. Data collection was conducted using an observation checklist instrument. The data analysis process involved categorizing each response, followed by calculating the percentage for interpretation purposes. The total percentage of all respondent responses was then presented in a table format. The research findings indicate that the toothbrushing techniques of 3rd grade students at SDN Jajar Tunggal III Surabaya in 2025 were in the good category.
