Abstract

The high prevalence of dental caries, reaching 62.50% among fourth and fifth-grade students at UPTD SDN Dulang 2, Torjun District, Sampang Regency in 2025, indicates a serious dental health issue among children in the area. One of the main contributing factors to this high rate of caries is the lack of knowledge about oral health, both among students and their parents.This study aims to assess the knowledge of fourth- and fifth-grade students at UPTD SDN Dulang 2, Torjun District, Sampang Regency, regarding dental caries, including its definition, causes, effects, treatment, and prevention. A descriptive quantitative method was used with 29 student respondents. Health education was delivered using "shopping care" media, followed by a questionnaire. The results showed that students' knowledge in all aspects of dental caries was in the good category, with a score of 78.9%. This indicates an improvement in students' understanding at UPTD SDN Dulang 2, Torjun District, Sampang Regency in 2025 through the use of the "shopping care" media as a learning tool.
